That sounds like a joke at the expense of Americans from the state of Indiana, just south of the Wolverine State. They call then Hoosiers because when you ask them who their parents are you say, "Who's yer mamma? Who's yer daddy?" Of course they don't have the slightest idea what you're talking about. I'd take offense, but I'm not really from there.
I'm sorry if it can be read that way. It is not my intention to offend anyone. Except naiyāyikas of course...
